The Festival of Books at UCLA!
For the booklovers in or around the Los Angeles area, there will be a huge Festival of Books this weekend, 4/28-4/29, at the UCLA campus. It promises to be an event any booklover would love to attend.
There will over 400 authors in attendance, 300 exhibitors, 97 author panels, 6 outdoor stages and just loads of book lovin' fun.

I was invited to go to this by a friend of mine who knows I love to read books. I don't think she knows that I love to read romance novels because I didn't see one author on the authors list that I knew or even heard of, so I don't think I'll be attending this event. However, I wanted to post this up just in case anyone else was interested in attending and is in the area.
If you do end up going, come back and tell us how it was...I'd love to hear how it went. Has anyone ever been to one of these kinds of events? How are they, crowded? With that many people attending, it must be utter chaos...anyone know how these kinds of things turn out? I might change my mind and end up going but I'd love to hear any feedback on whether it's worth driving all the way over to the UCLA campus and fighting for parking to attend.

I watch Booktv. Last night they aired the book fesitvel's panel on "Relgion and Popular culture" which included the uber-opiniated Christopher Hitchens.
Apparently during the Q & A time someone stood up and got his goat becuase he called him a "facist crackpot" and wouldn't let the guy ask his quetion. I'm just pissed because that happend when I ran downstairs to get a drink of water! Nosey bugger that I am wants to know what the heck happened!
LMAO! I would have liked to have seen that, too, Zeek. Why is it that I'm never around for the good stuff?

LMAO, shut up? That really happened? man, how funny is that...I would have loved to see that too. My friend went without me, I'm gonna ask her if she saw that.
